I have spent literally minutes researching this world shattering story (writes Sir Howard Elston) that Denmark has now drawn up a shortlist of American states it wants to purchase.

A senior spokesman for the mini country told me: ‘We got cash and we can throw chunks of Greenland into the deal. We’re ready to roll.’

States that the Scando-country is eyeing up include:

Delaware: ‘ great state somewhere near Washington and it grows soybeans too’ my Copenhagen source said

Arizona: ‘good golfing..’

Wyoming: ‘needed for Danish national security and our border control…’

Mar a Logo: ‘not really a state but we’re just crazy about that robo-dog on the front lawn. The Yanks can keep the rest of Florida…’

The US State Department has been asked for comment. A spokesman said Arizona is not for sale- Mr Trump likes deserts (note from Editor: “should that read ‘likes desserts’”?). Mar a Logo is owned by a Russian shelf company based in North Korea so that’s out of the question as we respect our allies. Nobody here has ever heard of Wyoming so that’s off the table.

But Delaware is Sleepy Joe’s home state so we could swing it for Greenland….only if Canada throws in Quebec.’
